If you can afford an Escalade, you can afford a hotel room...

Calico cited for misdemeanor

Tennessee Titans receiver Tyrone Calico was cited for a low-grade misdemeanor on the charge of public indecency during the early hours of May 12.

Calico, 24, was cited on the charge along with Domonike Wheeler, 18, after officer John Richards observed Calico’s Cadillac Escalade parked with the lights on at 18th Avenue and Division Street in the Music Row area, police say.

According to Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron, Richards “checked the license plate on Escalade, and it had expired. The windows were tinted, so he headed around to the front of the vehicle and shined his light inside. Two persons in a state of undress jumped up from the back seat. He believed they were engaged in sexual activity. Both individuals denied that.”

Neither Calico nor Wheeler were arrested and they were allowed to leave once issued the citation. Both are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

“This is a low-grade misdemeanor charge, and it does not in any way allege any crime of violence,” Aaron said.

The citing of Calico, who is out until training camp opens while rehabbing an injured knee, continues a string of off-the-field incidents involving Titans players this season.

Calico did not return a phone call from The City Paper seeking comment.

Asked for comment regarding the incident involving Calico, Titans spokesman Robbie Bohren said the team “was aware of the situation.”

Calico was also ticketed for expired tags, police said.

"officer John Richards observed Calico’s Cadillac Escalade parked with the lights on at 18th Avenue and Division Street"

Probably would have gotten away with this if he'd been smart enough to turn off the headlights.

"Hello, OnStar? I'm in the back of my Escalade with my pants around my ankles, and my lights are on."
