Mays to be skipped in rotation
Harang had about as rough a two innings as he’s had all year, giving up two in the first and two in the second to put the Reds in a 4-0 hole.
There’s possibility the Reds will shuffle their rotation to have Eric Milton pitch Saturday and Harang pitch in Milton’s spot Sunday. That would mean skipping Joe Mays.

..... and there was much rejoicing.
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
Even though Milton pitches earlier, this is still a good idea. I am hoping Mays will be gone next roster move. He is dead weight right now, if they were going to use him at all - you would have figured last night would have been when they would have done it. Time to call someone else up from AAA.
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
Last time we did this both Harang and Arroyo lost their starts.
I prefer 4-5 innings of Mays + BP than continuing to screw around like this.
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
A big reason for this I would think would be with the bullpen almost entirely used last night, Mays available today in case. Hopefully we don't need him. (Ever again)

Well, hopefully Arroyo can go 7. Majewski didn't pitch last night and should be available to pitch an inning. Eddie will always pitch whenever needed. Mays should never be available unless we are behind 10-0.
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
mays next start should be for Aruba in the Venezuelan League sometimes after the next syzygy
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
The Royals cut Mays earlier this year. That was all we needed to know about his talent.
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
how is Mays supposed to showcase his talent?
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
"Talent" that is an interesting description of his "abilities"
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
If they dfa Mays I hope they'll bring up Dumatrait.
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
If this happens (it's not a done deal as stated in the title), how does the rotation shake out for the Houston series?

If this happens you would have Arroyo on Tuesday, Ramirez on Wednesday, and Milton on Thursday.

Indeed, I'm thinking 1-2 more quality starts out of Joe and we can flip him for a AA stud who will be ready to win 25 in the bigs next season. Of course those would be 1-2 more quality starts than Mays has had in 3 years, but who's counting.
Re: Mays to be skipped in rotation
Selfishly speaking, I really hope they skip Mays. We have tickets for Saturday. :(
