Marlins?

 everyone on here being so excited about ATL overtaking the Wild Card...don't look now, but FLA is just one game behind them w/ the series win over ATL today

I think they are too young and will wilt down the stretch, but Girardi should be proud of what he's done and the young talent they have. Those fish may just be sharks in the not too distant future.

Also, the Reds play the second to last series of the season against them, it would be bad if there is still something up in the air as far as a playoff appearance at that time.

The Marlins will be tough. I think they stick around because of youth and confidence. They play like they have nothing to lose. Dangerous teams think this way.

On the right sandwich, cheese is quite tasty.

I absolutely love the heart and talent of the Marlins this year. Giardi and Benifest should have the Manager and Exec of the Year jobs locked up w/o question.

But I also agree, pitchers like Olsen, Johnson, Nolasco, all while extremely talented, are likely due for a regression or two as they hit their career highs in innings pitched.

And their bullpen sucks something awful.

fun stat: last 58 games, Marlins are 36-22 or a .621 winning %

imagine if they didnt start 11-31 lol

I bet Krivsky is leading exec of the year right now, despite "the trade".

I do not see that happening after the "firesale" they had this winter. Not a lot of things tic off MLB than having a firesale in a city with the lowest attendance and basically announcing there are financial issues that must be a concern for MLB. Of course I don't know who votes for that either.

But I have WK. Ross, Phillips, Hatteberg were DFA'd and free agent! Wily Mo for Arroyo! And a 1st place team. Of course I didn't think the fish would reach 65 wins this year either...but I vote for Girardi still.

Not bad for a team created on a budget of 14 dollars and 22 cents....
