Edward Valdez, Chattanooga pitcher, named SL Pitcher of the Week

Southern League
Eddy Valdez, Chattanooga
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 14.1 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 11 SO
Valdez took part in two shutout performances this week to run his record to 7-5 on the year. The 26-year-old native of the Dominican Republic tossed 7 1/3 scoreless frames against West Tenn on Tuesday and seven more against Huntsville on Sunday. Valdez struck out 11 batters over this span while yielding just seven hits.

Also noticed this right below him. Good for Travis.

Texas League
Travis Chick, San Antonio
2-0, 0.69 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 0 CG, 0 SHO, 13.1 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 9 SO
Chick emerged victorious twice this week, and he is now 3-0 over five starts with the Missions. The Texas native allowed one run over six innings against Corpus Christi on Tuesday, but he was even better on Sunday against Midland. The 22-year-old surrendered just two hits over 7 1/3 innings as the Missions defeated the RockHounds, 4-2.

Boy is Valdez hot. He might want some coffee to go with the roll.
