TE decision I have to make tonight...
I have Ben Watson and he is now pretty much out for this weekend. So I have to decide between Vernon Davis and Desmond Clark.
I would have started Davis for sure tonight, but Seattle is expecting 30-50 MPH winds all game and it will either be wet or still raining.
Should I go against weather and start Davis? Or go ahead and take my chances with a hobbled Clark against Tampa?
Re: TE decision I have to make tonight...
Last I heard, Clark was out this week.
Re: TE decision I have to make tonight...
I have Watson, too, and I just picked up Davis. Even with the weather as it is, I think he's an electric option. He's likely to catch a 5-yard pass and turn it into a 50-yard gain.
BTW - if you don't have Gates, Gonzalez, Shockey, Winslow, or Crumpler, your tight end doesn't really matter.
Re: TE decision I have to make tonight...
I have Davis going in both my leagues. First I heard about the 30 MPH winds though... beginning to second guess myself and put McMichael back in. What do you think?

The 35+ MPH winds seem to be a little on the high side according to rotoworld. They did however say that it will be a consistent 20-25 MPH. I think these winds could actually help Davis get more catches since Smith most likely will not want to throw it deep in the wind.
I would still start Davis over McMichael. Joey Harrington loves Booker and Welker a lot more than McMichael.
Re: TE decision I have to make tonight...
I stay away from anyone playing in inclement weather, for what it's worth.
I benched Frank Gore tonight in one of my leagues in favor of Maurice Jones-Drew.
I could be stupid, but if nobody can pass, they won't be running, either, because they'll just key the run all night.
The Giants and Bucs played a game in swirling wind and nobody could score because if you know your opponent can't pass, you just stack the line.
It's a tough call withou being there, but why take the chance? If you can't envision some points being scored, don't kick yourself tomorrow. If you end up making the wrong decision, at least you based it on something smart like the weather.

Touchdown, Davis.
Geesh, never listen to me. I have no clue.
Re: TE decision I have to make tonight...
Davis hits what I call the Tight End Lottery: a touchdown catch with less than 20 receiving yards.
BTW Dom -- good call on Gore.

Yeah, thanks- this was not in my money league where I had a bye this week, or I would be contemplating jumping off my roof.

Oops. Got Desmond mixed up with Dallas.

And of course Desmond Clark goes for 125 and 2 TDs today. Damn fantasy football.
