NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Bud was in possession of some buds, got disorderly and landed in jail, police said.

David Anthony Faustino, better known as the character Bud Bundy from TV's "Married with Children," is facing misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and disorderly intoxication after his arrest Saturday morning on Flagler Avenue.

Faustino, who played the son in the 1980s-'90s Fox Network comedy about a dysfunctional nuclear family, was arrested after Officer David Freeman spotted a car stopped in the intersection of Flagler and Peninsula avenues about 2 a.m. and a couple arguing.

Faustino tried to climb out the driver's side window, police said, then opened the door and got out, swinging his arm at the door. Thinking the actor may have been trying to strike the woman driver, later identified as Faustino's estranged wife, Andrea Faustino, 31, of Daytona Beach, Freeman confronted the couple.

Faustino, 33, Los Angeles, tried to walk away, but was ordered back to the police car and complied, a police report states. After smelling alcohol on Faustino's breath, Freeman charged the actor with disorderly intoxication. A subsequent search uncovered a plastic bag containing 1 gram of marijuana in the actor's right front pants pocket, the report states.

Andrea Faustino told police her ex-husband did not hit her. However, the couple had been drinking earlier in the evening.

Faustino was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail and was released later Saturday. He was issued a notice to appear in court after an interview with pretrial services officials, officials said.

Efforts to reach Faustino by telephone at his Los Angeles address were unsuccessful Monday, as were attempts to contact Andrea Faustino by telephone at her Daytona Beach address.

According to the Internet Movie Database, the couple were married in Las Vegas in 2004. They filed for divorce in February due to irreconcilable differences.

Faustino and his wife star in the sci-fi comedy movie "RoboDoc" filmed in Ormond Beach last year. It is scheduled for release this summer.

Ah-hah - so it was simply a cheap ploy to give more publicity for their film.
However, with a stellar cast including Alan Thick, Corin Nemic and David DeLuise, I believe this will only be a small blemish on an otherwise unforgettable epic.
