Sometime around the all-star break per Reynolds

I cannot wait for him to be with the Reds, he is amazing.

Very nice. It will give him a chance to prove himself at a higher level.
It is actually rather exciting watching not one, not two, but perhaps three very strong prospects move up slowly but surely. Does give one hope for the future.
Let us hope they don't end up like other prospects.

Why wait until the All-Star break? He's dominated down there, get him to AA. Now. I don't think you have to protect hitters like you do pitchers.

I think they probably want him to get to play in his All Star game since he's earned it. However I wouldn't wait considering he should be a lock for the Futures game this year that will give him the All Star game he's earned.

That may be true. But the Reds do have a bigger and better prospect from the USA as well, in Bailey. It will be interesting to see who they choose.

I didn't think that they limited it to one player per organization. I still expect Bailey to be in the majors by then anyway.

If it were up to me, Jay Bruce would be starting in Chattanooga tonight. I'm usually patient when it comes to prospects (especially pitching prospects) but Jay Bruce has nothing left to prove in the Florida State League. Promote him to Chattanooga now and see how he does.

Yep, time to see what he's made of in the advanced minors. He's way ahead of the development curve at this point.

Is he going to be a corner OFer in the bigs or does he still project to CF?

Hasn't everyone said that he replaces Griffey at RF and Hamilton is CF?

Stubbs will be in CF if all goes well.

I'll be shocked if we ever see a Bruce/Stubbs/Hamilton OF though. The odds are stacked against it. If we do, props to the reds minors coaches.

ESPN Q/A
Jim Callis of Baseball America in his chat today.

Jack (Cincinnati): Whos better in 2 years: Jay Bruce or Josh Hamilton?
Jim Callis: Jay Bruce.

That seems like an impossible question to answer correctly.

It definitely speaks unbelievably highly of Jay Bruce's prospects, but Josh Hamilton was pegged as a once in a generation type talent. If he returns to reach those heights, is Jay Bruce REALLY going to surpass that?

I hope to find out by having them both in the Reds starting lineup :beerme:
