Phillies lose 10,000th
Could be worse, Reds fans.

Re: Phillies lose 10,000th
I wonder what the Reds all time record is? Anyone know?

Wow. I knew they were way up there in all-time losses. Unloveable losers, sometimes I think it's amazing that they're the team that survived in Philly and the A's were the ones that moved.

Re: Phillies lose 10,000th
Baseball Reference has their record from 1882-2007 as 9637-9341 (not sure where the descrepancy is between them and DDN - but I am more likely to go with baseballreference).
If we add the brutally bad 1876-1880 period of 125-217, we get 9762-9558. Pretty good, actually, considering we have not had a winning record since 2000. |

Re: Phillies lose 10,000th
For the era I've followed NL baseball (1964-present), I've always thought the Phillies were a pretty good ball club.
Just eyeballing baseball-reference, that stretch between 1918-1948 was absolutely brutal for the Phils. That's a long daggone time to play horrible baseball. I can understand the origins of the boo-birds. |
