Just wanted to see if that would come out right, and the answer is no. Somebody can delete this thread.

You need to use the 'code' format and it should work.

Re: Bruce

Thanks guys. Anyways, I was thinking at the end of the season, we should all take a few hitting prospects and compile a stat line like this that includes batted ball data and other fun stuff like that. I think we'd learn a lot if we had some kind of sticky library with organized and in depth stats. Instead of just noticing that a guy raised his average 40 points from the previous season, we may have a better idea of why and whether or not it's likely to continue. Just a thought. It'd at least give us something to do other than make an endless amount of prospect lists.

Re: Bruce

That's where I got the data from, but the balls in play stats are in like table form. If we could organize it into percentages of each batted ball type and batting average on each one, it'd be way easier to understand at a glance. Here's what I had in mind for the batted ball stats...it looks wierd, but you get the picture.

Code:

total batted balls/BA    percentage of batted ball type/batting average

                          Overall          GB                LD              FB              PF
    Sarasota        203/.419    39.9%/.272  21.2%/.767  33.5%/.441    5.4%/.000
    Chattanooga    46/.478      45.7%/.381  19.6%/.778  30.4%/.500    4.3%/.000
    Louisville          1-3              0-1                0-1              1-1              0-0
      Total          252/.429    40.9%/.291    21.0%/.755  32.9%/.458    5.2%/.000
