Efrain Contreras
I just noticed that Contreras, a 20 year old outfielder from Venezuela, was moved from the Venezuelan Summer league to the Dominican Summer League team after tearing the cover off of the ball in Venezuela.
He hit .315 with 11 HR, 35 K, 30 BB in 241 ABs for a .924 OPS. He also had 25 SB with only 5 CS.
I'm assuming the Dominican league is a step up from the Venezuelan league, but how does the process of bringing these players over to the States work out?
Also, IF we were to get Contreras over to the states for next year, would he start in Billings or Dayton?

Re: Efrain Contreras
Thanks for posting this. I was wondering the same thing.

Re: Efrain Contreras
I hadn't noticed that he moved. Honestly though, if he makes it to the States next year, I would bet he plays with the GCL Reds before anything else unless they think he is really good, and I don't think they believe that. He played in the VSL last year and yet has been passed up by many others to be brought over to the US to play over him.

Re: Efrain Contreras
With numbers like this, though, I don't know how they couldn't at least bring him over. Maybe there's an issue with bringing him over?

Re: Efrain Contreras
That could be it as well redseer. This was however his first real good season in the VSL.
