Shakespeare's birthday is debated. He was christened on April 26, so many scholars observe his birthday as that day (that is the day that I wear my Shakespeare socks every year). He did DIE on April 23, as you say -- we definitely know this -- which accounts for the Book Day, and that's also accredited with a lot of people believing that it was his birthday for a long time.Quote:

Legend has it that my dad had to stop at the store to buy batteries to ensure that he would be able to listen to the game on the radio while I was being born.
I have a printout of the front page of the Dallas Morning News from the day I was born hanging on the wall of my office. (Courtesy of the online newspaper database at my local public library.) There wasn't much happening in the world that day, so it's a good thing I came along. :D
