I'll go with Mace Thurman at #33. He posted a 2.97 ERA and 14 BB/45 K ratio in 33.1 innings in his first pro season. I think he could start 2009 in the Sarasota bullpen and move quickly through the system. After Thurman I'll go with Junior Arias and Jordan Smith.

I like Jordan Smith. I think he is the best starting pitching prospect left on the board...

I'm going with David Sappelt. I think this guy is going to be really good. He's a solid hitter with good defense.

I have to say that I have not been this impressed with our farm system in the 40 years I've been a REDS' fan.

It's not me, it's my Grandma. She has a high hernia which caused her stomach and intestines to move up into her chest area and will need surgery tomorrow. It's not life threatening or anything but surgery is surgery.

Ouch. My grandma used to have problems like that. She wound up having a mesh fencing put in to keep everything in its place. Again, not life threatening surgery, but still.
