I guess. Pretty academic, though, at this point.

Sorry to be picky, BCubb!

Honestly, I would rather see Heisey, Stubbs, Frazier and company this season than another day of Taveres, Hairston, EdE, and Arroyo.
I totally agree. One day less of Taveras' bunts or bloops, Hariston's styling at the plate, Ecarnacion's so-called "potential" that doesn't ever come to be, and Arroyo's off and on pitching would bring me joy. While you're at it, take Alex Gonzalez with them. Put out the trash once and for all.

Gomes might nab a middling prospect at the deadline.

They'd still lose, but they'd lose young. That should count for something.
Next year's pitch! "Lose Young"
Re: Reds vs. Phillies 7-6-09
Wonder if Castellini regrets that "The losing stops now" garbage. He's shown himself to be as much a charlatan as the last bunch of morons.

The second the recession turned off the hoses this offseason, I knew we were sunk as fans. A guy who lets a recession, something that has never hurt baseball attendance in the modern era, turn his plans awry deserves to lose.
I still have some faith that Walt can do something on a budget, but the terms have changed pretty drastically since October of last year.
Re: Reds vs. Phillies 7-6-09
EdE strikes out looking. 10-1.
I think I'll go study ancient history or something. This is torture.
Re: Reds vs. Phillies 7-6-09
Cueto was obviously shook up after he walked Rollins to start the game. When he can keep his head in the game, he will be a crazy good pitcher.

That's much better! Now it'll be 80-4.5!

Shook up after one lousy walk? He's not going to be long for this game.

I don't know, Jocketty's always had cooperative ownership that understood that up-front investments could yield huge returns. Hence his traditional acuity for adding serious gamebreaking talent midseason.
Castellini looks more like Carl Lindner telling Bowden he couldn't bring in Scott Rolen because he needed the money to foment a military coup or something.

The bright side?
* After tonight they can only be 4 GB.
