Prospect #9 runoff vote
Neftali Soto or Brad Boxberger?

Re: Prospect #9 runoff vote
No Matt Maloney?

Re: Prospect #9 runoff vote
I will take Boxberger in this one. Upside plays a key role here as I still see Boxberger's upside as a #1 starter, while Soto's bat has plenty of potential defensively he just won't provide the value.

Re: Prospect #9 runoff vote
I'll go with Soto. He showed advanced hitting ability in the lower minor league levels at a very young age. Defense is an issue and he didn't do well at High A, but he was a top five prospect for the Reds last year. I think 9 is about right for him now.
Boxberger is a high draft choice and, while he has upside, there's no pro ball track record except some underwhelming AFL numbers. I'm glad Box projects well, but I think Soto's 2008 performance in the minor leagues at a very young age gives him an edge. |
Re: Prospect #9 runoff vote
I voted Maloney, but will go Soto here. Recent draft choices tend to get too much helium, I think.

Re: Prospect #9 runoff vote
I guess I'll go Soto. I also think Maloney should have been in the runoff

Re: Prospect #9 runoff vote
I'll pass on voting on this one in protest of my man Maloney being left out of the mix.

Maloney - no vote

Re: Prospect #9 runoff vote
I won't vote since Maloney was not included.
