I went with Juan Silva at #13. Silva is only 18 years old and has plenty of tools. He hit an impressive .280/.372/.462 - .834 OPS in 143 atbats after signing. He's still raw but he showed a solid combination of power and strikezone knowledge during his tenure in the GCL. I liked the pick after I watched his scouting video on draft day and I like the pick even more now after his performance in the GCL. I also considered Juan Duran, Donnie Joseph, and Matt Klinker here.

I'm still on Silva. I thought about leaving him last time to support Valakia in opposition to Hamilton. I object less to Klinker (if he's Valaika's competition now) being voted in at this point than Hamilton. (To me, Hamilton hasn't yet shown that he's a baseball player. That sort of seems like a prerequisite.) So I'll stick with Silva. Especially since he has now been touted on the first two posts of the poll. Groundswell?

Valaika is still just 24, at AAA, and has proven at lower levels that he can hit. Good chance he will hit at AAA next year and become a major league infielder.

I don't know if he's a starter in the major leagues, but if he has a steady bat he'll get a lot of opportunities. So I have him here.

I went with Klinker. Two above average pitches with his fastball/curveball combo. Made it to AAA with strong numbers this year. Not the highest upside pitcher left, but easily the highest upside guy left who has production.

Silva again.

Request that Gregorius be added to the next ballot.

Where do people get the impression that Dorn is a poor defender?

BTW, Dorn again

Klinker. Doug's put it very well. Highest upside among the starting pitchers who have established enough production to look like fairly sure bets to pitch in the major leagues.

Considered Klinker, but I'll be the first to take Mesoraco here. Starting to develop his offensive game, and his catching apparently took a huge step forward last year.

Reds72 was the first I heard and he gave me the impression he doesn't have a glove even close to being able to play in the majors.

My vote is Duran. Incredibly young, huge frame, and most upside of anyone left.

Same here, I just dont see how he drops that far because of an injury riddled season.

That tag has followed him around forever. It seems the in person (non scouts) reports all tell me he is ok for left, but every scout I talk to has him as a poor fielder.

He's wrong. The only thing negative about Dorn is that he's not fast. But I've also seen him make plays on balls that I didn't think he was going to reach. He made 2 errors in LF all of last season. His RF/G was 1.75 and Heisey's was 1.86 in LF. Dorn's fielding % in LF was .981 and Heisey's was .976. His trial at 1B was not that successful but his 4 errors there are to be expected for playing a new position.
