I have a feeling that this is just the beginning of an era of non-green football fields. The University of New Haven (CT) installed a blue field recently, and Boise State got in a tizzy about it.

Nothing like playing football on a field of BLOOD ;)

It's covered in snow all Winter there. That should be interesting.

This wouldn't have been possible in the era of analog TV. Analog TV doesn't cope well with larqe quantities of the color red.

I don't like this. The blue field in Boise is ugly, distracting, and just not right; and this one doesn't look much better. Sports like that belong on green grass.

Wonder how long before UK does an all blue football field at Commonwealth.

While I could see "field coloring" getting of of hand in the near future...who is Boise State to say what color others can make their field?

I suspect you'll find schools installing fields that aren't blue, per se, but rather "azure," "cerulean," "cobalt," or "prussian."

Too bad the University of Hawaii football team changed their name to Warriors around 2000... before that they were called the Rainbow Warriors. Don't like the non-green fields, but would love to see it taken to the limit.

Never. Never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.

(or so I hope.)

Now how will we know where the Red Zone is?

Well, that will get them on ESPN more often.

I really don't want to see this idea spread.

I am thinking of suggesting to Marshall University that it claim exclusive rights to football fields in its team colors.

Marshall's colors are green and white. ;)

The Dons might use that idea....if they had a football team.
