Reds v Metropolitans Tuesday 9/27/2011

Quote:

Brandon Phillips 4
Drew Stubbs # 204
Joey Votto 3
Jay Bruce 9
Chris Heisey 7
Todd Frazier 5
Devin Mesoraco 2
Paul Janish 6
Bronson Arroyo 1
Lineup for 2011's penultimate contest. Just a thought here but I will bet players would try a little harder to make contact if their uniform numbers were based on the number of times they struck out the previous season. Now batting for the Cincinnati Reds - NUMBER 2 0 4 - Drewwwwwwwwwww Stubbsssssssssssssss. LOL. Yeah that would work.

we would need flippable numbers for him so they could change as the game progresses!

Drew Stubbs' bobblehead will bobble from side to side as he watches another called third strike whiz by. :rockband:

It will be interesting to see what Stubbs does in the offseason. The talent is there, it just needs to be coached up by the right hitting coach.

I'm pretty sure Stubbs has options left. I would use one to start 2012 and give another youngster a crack at it.

If what you mean by talent is the ability to swing a wooden object and miss a horsehide spheroid on a consistent basis, then yes, Stubbs has talent.

Jay Bruce on the loose. 2-run bomb to give the Rhinelanders the early lead.

Bronson doing his best to give it right back. Wright singles in Tejada. 2-1. Darn Mono.

Arroyo gets out of the inning without giving up a HR. Good work, sir.

The Reds should have traded Hernandez and Renteria and cash to Houston for 1$ for this last series.

If you really think Stubbs isn't major league material...then you really don't have a grasp for this game.

His grasp of the game is larger than that of Stubbs' grasp of the strike zone and plate discipline. But I agree, Stubbs is a ML talent. Just doesn't have it upstairs.

I would like to think Stubbs can be re-tooled as an OBP guy, but I have some doubts.
