Adam Dunn (32) -Don't know what I can add to what's already been said about him. A polarizing figure on this board.
Jon Nunnally (40) -One good year with Reds, followed by one really bad one.
Bob Gibson (76) -The major league pitcher I'd least like to face.
Whitey Herzog (80)
Jerry Priddy -Bill James has a lengthy essay about him in one of his books. The condensed version is that he came up with the Yankees the same time as Rizzuto, looked like he was going to be a big star, then drifted in the other direction gradually. His post-baseball life was not happy.
Billy Sunday -Speedy outfielder turned famous evangelist.
Re: Birthdays: 11/9
Dusty Baker tells of receiving this advice from Hank Aaron: "Don't dig in against Bob Gibson; he'll knock you down. He'd knock down his own grandmother if she dared to challenge him. Don't stare at him, don't smile at him, don't talk to him. He doesn't like it. If you happen to hit a home run, don't run too slow, don't run too fast.
