Re: Who is Redszone's #47 prospect?
I'm back on the Covington train after selecting Clarke in the last poll due to previous lack of others votes for Covington. Gotta love a high upside arm here at #47.

Good job moving this along, camis . . .
So now we've got a duel between two young Canadian pitchers. Interesting. I like them both, but at this point will opt for the lefty with the track record. That would be Clarke, of course. |
Re: Who is Redszone's #47 prospect?
Covington's my second choice after our 4th round draft pick, Kyle McMyne. Yes, he had a seriously ugly start to the year, but this was his first taste of pro ball in a very small sample. His fastball sits around 93-94 while touching 96, with an above-average slider and curveball to complement it. Command seems to be his biggest issue (and suggests he'll be a reliever in the long run), but he's got time and has a lot of upside. He could very well go fall off the map in a hurry, but I like his chances of being a MLB contributor more than anybody else left at this point.

Quitting both your job and your girlfriend(s) to make sure RedsZone gets 50 prospects in before Opening Day is reaching a level of commitment that is rarely seen in this day and age. I tip my Reds' cap to you. :beerme:

redsof72 notes in another thread that Bryson Smith may skip a level this year and be placed in Bakersfield. Could we add him to the list for the next poll? Thanks.

I have a court date next week, which requires me to get a long list of things done to avoid going to jail (in theory, at least; the jails are probably too overcrowded for me). I wasn't getting those things done because of nonstop harassment from ladies and employers, so I decided to cut them out of my life for a while. I'm left with very little extra time, but if all goes according to plan, I'll be able to spend several hours on the internet everyday (if I want to). |
