Dykxhoorn says his son has the frame, size and desire. Now, it’s a matter of mastering his pitches.

Good to hear that he is 6'8". I am so tired of the Reds only targeting short pitchers. :p

Actually if you're under 6'4", you'll be on the short side with our club these days.

I went to the Google translator and, while it wouldn't translate the name, does give you a sound clip of the name being pronounced. On the English side, it pronounced Dix Hoorn (which I expected). From the Dutch side, it was more Dikes Harn. My guess that they've anglicized it towards "Dix" and probably it's just Horn.

Is that translated from Dutch (or French) or something? Strange way to talk. Can't blame a kid for wanting the college experience though. Especially a 20th rounder who wasn't offered a big signing bonus. Good luck to him.
