Looks like Carlos Ruiz is suspended 25 games for amphetamine use.

15% of the season. Whoop-tee-doo. Players are going to keep on using if the penalty is so weak. Saw that Jayson Stark mentioned this would have been the 2nd positive test for Ruiz. The 1st positive would have triggered more frequent drug testing.

It's still significant time considering that the Phillies don't have many bats and Chooch is great on defense. Still, I agree with your statement on a whole. I know it's an amphetamine but it does give players who use them a distinct advantage over their peers on the field. It should be treated like the player tested positive for roids.
