Should Griffey be there by the way he's playing? No.
Should he be there because of who is he? Maybe.
Is he still a very good player who people want to see? Yes
Would it be in his or the team's best interest if he goes? Absolutely not.

Griffey has played in plenty of all-star games. It is a great honor, but I hope he doesn't make it. Anytime he can get rest and reduce a chance of an injury is extremely important. The problem is, if he makes it he'll probably have to play because it would look awful if he was chosen by the fans and didn't play. In a few years when he's about to retire, that's when he should be invited to play one last time. He's not quite at that point yet.
