Eddie Mathews was a phenominal player. Fearsom hitter and good glove in the field. Mike Schmidt may have surpassed him in some reguards but I would be in heaven if Edwin Encarnacion came even close to either of those guys.

Part of my disappointment with current baseball is that it's unlikely that we will see very many players spend all, or even most, of their careers with the same team because of free agency. It's tough to bond with player after player and then have them walk away. (sigh)
