I agree ...great article. Junior has been a bright spot this season and I have really enjoyed watching him climb the ranks of baseball's immortals.
Just to play devil's advocate here though... One quote kind of rubbed me the wrong way:
"He says he teaches his son, Trey, that effort is more important than numbers."
That quote makes me want to option EE to Louisville.
Seriously though... I guess he means the effort in preparation, which Griffey is famous for going above and beyond, as opposed to in-game hustle, which Griffey (and Dunn for that matter) are famous for, um, not doing, especially on the base paths.
But again, great article. Junior has a lifetime of baseball experience/perspective to go along with a great upbringing, and it shows.
