Re: Woah, Hamilton hitting leadoff, Freel 6th
I don't like to critique the batting order too often, but I just can't figure out the obsession with batting him clean-up. His line when batting 4th is .273/.273/.364/.637 with just 3 HRs and 15 RBIs in 91 ABs. His numbers with nobody on base or with a runner on 1st are just as dreadful.
If the Reds really need Conine in the line-up to take advantage of his nice avg. with RISP (.333) or numbers against Morris (.308 avg, .385 OBP, weak .305 SLG tho), then why not bat him 6th? It's not a great sample size, but with 28 ABs in the 6 hole he's hitting .333/.391/.667/1.058.
I just can't figure it out (especially with a righty on the mound!).
