Re: Prospect Profile: Scott Carroll
Hi guys. I am Scotty's oldest brother. I talked to him last night after his first professional start and he sounded great. He said he was a little nervous in the first inning but settled down in the second (which is the inning he struck out two). They had him on a pitch count/inning count, whichever came first (45 pitches or two innings). He wanted to come back out for the third but the coaches wouldn't let him as they are sticking to a program for him.
I listened to the audio of the game on both the Billings radio station as well as the Ogden station. Both were very complimentary of Scotty, as was the Billings pitching coach. Hopefully Scotty continues to work hard and improve.
He said the main pitching coordinator/scout (? or similar position) was in Billings for 4 days last week watching him throw bullpen work, along with some other guys.
Anyway, even though he has a long way to go, I was one proud brother last night. He's a good kid.
