When I went to the Davey Concepcion game, I pointed out to my dad how the crowd was much more into the game and it seemed to be a much more knowledgeable crowd. Those were baseball fans who came to the game for baseball reasons. I fully understand the need for marketing efforts especially when the performance of the team has been subpar but I expect Cincinnati fans to have enough baseball IQ to know when to make a little noise and not have the big board tell them when to do it.

I hear ya, not saying that alone will enable us to sign Alex Rodriguez this off-season, but it's one step on the road to it.
I agree, Cincinnati fans should be more knowledgeable and historically have been. Unfortunately they've been smart enough to know a sub-par product when they see it, were put-off by the strike and took longer than most to recover, etc, etc... without "baseball reasons" enough, we have to resort to $1 hot dogs, bring your dog to the ballpark, come and get smashed at the Budweiser Party Deck. Hey, whatever it takes.
