who cares. By that time I'll be 70+ and I won't care. I'll be asking for the nurse to wipe my drooling. As long as it doesn't happen in my conscious lifetime, I'm OK with it. Baseball was meant to have 9 players including a pitcher batting in order. If we give in to the DH, why not have DF (designated fielders). You know some guys bat and some guys field. It would open up a new career for guys like Juan Castro who everyone thinks is a good fielder or even Royce Clayton. Maybe even Ryan Freel. how nice would it be to not have to sit through an at-bat by Freel as he hacks away. Of course, he would have to run the bases which might prove to be a problem, but then you could have the DR's--the designated runners. Guys like Norris Hopper and any number of others could just run and use their speed.
The possibilities are endless if we want to bastardize the game like the American League has done.
