I think the one factor you're omitting with that scenario, Ltlabner, is the distance traveled
in those trips. The average car trip is only a few miles, while the average air trip is hundreds of miles.
Trip for trip, I'll take your word for it as described in the quote above. But mile for mile, I would suspect that air is safer.
