You can build for the future all you want but at some point you have to play for the present.
I have no idea what previous trades you are talking about. But 2 months of Babe Ruth reincarnated wouldn't supply us with enough offense to pull out of this and get back into the race this year. So why give up our #1 prospect for 2 months of a player who at this point is just decent who probably won't sign for next year? I really fail to see the logic here.
