Re: NFL Predictions
Thought I'd revisit the Jags here. The season is 1/4 over.... Halftime of the Cards game was the franchise low. Down 24-3 in a Season Home Opener that only sold 43,000 tix and had 5,000 of those stay at home leaving 38,000 in stands.
But since then, the Jags had a more respectable second half (outscored Cards 14-7), and have now rolled up 2 victories in row to stand at 2-2.
First home game, 43,000 sold and 38,000 showed up.
Second home game, 49,000 sold and 46,000 showed up.
They just completed an opening 4 game stretched that seemed brutal at the start of the season. Indy (12-4 in 08), Defending NFC Champs Arizona, the trendy 2009 pick of Texas (won 5 of last 6), and the Titans (13-3).
Now after going 2-2 against them, their next 4 opponents have 1 TOTAL win.
People are starting to believe that Gene Smith as GM is making all the right moves after the Shack Harris debacle.
The 09 Draft class is making great contributions, we had 9 picks and 8 are on the active roster, the 9th on practice squad. We made a nice FA move getting Tra Thomas.
Their points scored have gone from 12 to 17 to 31 to 37.
In short, the city is starting to believe the Jags are now heading in the right direction, and getting excited about them again.
