The Reds have been very patient with him, so they must see value. IIRC, he throws hard for a LHP. He won't be 23 until February. Is it the consensus of RZ that the farm system is that much deeper?
It's just that so many relievers in the system have been more productive--including guys still on the board, like Mace Thurman and Joe Krebs, who are also lefthanders. And of course, so is Joseph. And Viola. Then, this year, guys like Ondrusek and Del Rosario passed him by. That said, I agree that Valiquette remains an intriguing guy. It speaks to why we can easily take this thing to 50 players and still traffic in prospects.
