He's a meh signing, IMO, and offers little upside. But he's the devil you know.
This isn't directed at you, Scrap, but what would the feeling(s) have been around here had the Reds NOT signed Cabrera? I think Jocketty did what he had to do for 2010. Cabrera had the leverage and both sides knew it IMO. Too bad it will cost the team between $4-$6 million for O.Cab's services. Was hoping for 1 year at $2 - $2.5 mil.
Give Bob Castellini credit. With last year's relatively poor attendance totals, BC is "putting his money where his mouth is".
