Hole #4: Ailsa Course at Turnberry Golf Links, South Ayrshire, Scotland
Having renewed confidence, the REDS took their clubs back to Britain for another stab at a Links course. Looking like it was Ireland all over again after a poor drive that sent them into the rough [a loss to the Marlins and a shellacking by the Astros (10-4)], they bounced back with a powerful second shot that placed the ball 120 yards from the green and a chance at a Bogey if they could two-putt the green.
Trying to figure out the wind in this turbulent Scottish air, the REDS approached this 3rd shot with a pitching wedge and gave it all they had. Aiming 120 feet to the right of the pin while only 120 feet away, the wind grabbed the ball just as they figured it would and brought it landing 35 feet from the hole where it bounced twice and rolled into the cup for a BIRDIE
(6W-3L). It takes shots like this to win Championships. At EVEN-PAR
after 4 holes, the REDS are right where they need to be in order to be in contention when September hits. If they finish at EVEN-PAR, they'll have a record of 90W-72L.
After 4 Holes: (EVEN-PAR).
