I'm a bit surprised to see no mention of Neftali Soto. Sure, he's struggled this year. But he's still young and the walk rate is up. A little BABIP luck and he's back on the radar. Obviously he doesn't have a future here with Votto around, but still.
I'd like to see Winker against some stiffer competition. A singles hitter with a .434 BABIP scares me a bit. I LOVE the plate discipline, but that BABIP won't hold up forever.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
