He has insisted on using Marshall as a LH specialist. Then when he yanked him when he shouldn't have in the first place, he put LeCure in the game, a bad idea given his recent struggles. He didn't want to use Marshall more than 1 inning with the Cards coming up tomorrow.
The Phillips thing was actually correct, as Phillips would lead off the next inning. It's called a double switch.
He didn't bring Chapman in the middle on the 9-10th inning becuase he was unavailable tonight, especially with the Cards coming up.
BTW, Hoover looked pretty good out there.
