Re: Birthdays- 8/24
We could add Frank Secory. He was an outfielder and spent 4 seasons in the bigs, including playing a couple of games for the Reds in 1942. He is better known as an umpire in the NL from 1952 through 1970. He was behind the plate on 5-26-56 when 3 Cincinnati pitchers held Milwaukee hitless for 9 innings before losing in the 10th; it was the first time in major league history that multiple pitchers combined to throw 9 innings without allowing a hit.
