I'm with you. I like Arroyo. I think he's been a good pitcher for Cincinnati and has had a solid year. But is he the 2nd best pitcher the Reds can throw out in the playoffs? I don't buy this nonsense that you have to mix it up with a junkball pitcher in between in the playoffs! You put out our best pitchers, period. Arroyo simply is not the 2nd best pitcher the Reds have.
If the Reds end up playing the Giants, Latos has pitched many innings in his young career against San Francisco and has put up fabulous numbers.
If the Reds play the Giants, and if it were me, and I know this is unconventional, I would go:
Latos game 1
Bailey game 2
Cueto game 3
Latos game 4
Cueto game 5
I know the Reds brass would never do that, but that's what I'd do.
