They have some star players but top to bottom they aren't anything special. The Tigers have just 4 guys on their roster posting over a .736 OPS and that one is OBP driven by a .243 hitter. One of those 4 guys is a mediocre player having a dream BABIP season. Verlander had a 2.64 ERA the rest of the team posted a 3.97 and had the 18th BP ERA to go with the Cards 20th. While the Cards have a roster of guys having career years, rookies and named veterans who sucked in the 2nd half. And guys like the middle infield of .236 minor league hitter Pete Kozma and .227 hitting Daniel Descalso leading the way in game 5 of the NLCS.
