You want to know the trick? Have good draft and development, a savvy FO with decent resources to take advantage of a weak division and build a contender year in and year out. The very nature of 5 and 7 game series will take care of the rest.
You piss and moan about them getting with 83 in 06 and as the WC last year and 2nd WC this year, yet you don't lament them not winning the WS in 04 or 05 with the best record in MLB. Why might that be?
