Since I'm up and at work on Christmas morning (but NOT bitter about it) I'll add Morrie Rath, the second baseman on the 1919 Reds. Morrie was the first batter in the 1919 Series, and Eddie Cicotte hit him as a signal that the fix was on. If Morrie had been more agile and dodged the pitch, there would have been some confused gamblers, I guess...
