Re: Ryan Freel commits suicide
Freel played on some awful Reds teams, and gave a lot of fans a reason to cheer in an otherwise gloomy situation. I still remember his catch against Pujols, it was one of the most amazing defensive plays in the outfield I've ever seen.
I also remember when he was hit by a pitch, and the ball went into his jersey. He just flipped the bat and ran to first with the ball bouncing around in there.
Another great memory... Randy Johnson was pitching a complete game against us in the 9th. Freel led off the inning with a walk, stole second, then third, and came home to score the go ahead run to win the game, covered in dirt of course.
