Re: Minor-League Player of the Day
Tuesday, May 7: Josh Ravin, Pensacola. In a light field--as always, of course (that is, every fifth day), there was Sharky--we'll go with Ravin's clutch relief effort. Pitching the 10th and 11th innings in a game that the Blue Wahoos won in 13, Ravin threw hitless, walkless baseball, with four strikeouts. Ravin's raw talent has always been a couple steps ahead of his production, so it's good to see him come through so resoundingly.
Chad Rogers' consistency has been remarkable. In his previous outing, he barely missed MiLPOD with a line 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K. Last night was more of the same: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 8 K. Bravo for Sharky.
Denis Phipps: 2-4, 2 BB.
Juan Silverio: 2-4, 3B, 2 RBI.
