I question Hanigan's pitch calling the last two innings esp. with Hoover. Hoover has a good breaking pitch but Hanigan had Hoover throw almost exclusively fastballs and eventually they caught up to it. I think with Nick Green they had him down 0-2 and didn't call for a single breaking pitch. The AB went 11 or 12 pitches and he eventually walked.
3 run lead, challenge the hitters, throw strikes, if the AB went that long, then isn't it more a case that the batter won the battle?
