I've been saying for a few years now that if you could have Marvin Lewis coach the team for all but the 3 hours during the week when the game is actually played, the Bengals would be world-beaters. Marvin just cannot seem to make good in-game decisions and game-plan adjustments.
Sabermetrics can be boiled down to this simple truism: A batter's goal is to extend the inning. Extend enough innings and you're going to score runs. Extend more innings than your opponent and you're going to score more runs than him.
