Favre is no longer the best QB in the NFL, but he is still one of the top 10 QB's in the league. Last season he posted a 92.4 QB rating (10th in the NFL), completed 64% of his passes (9th), passed for 4088 yards (5th), and threw 30 TD passes (4th). Those are some fine numbers, ones I'd love to see Carson Palmer post in his prime, much less in an 'off' year. In fact, Favre has rebounded recently after a mid career slump in 1999-2000. His last two seasons have been his best back-to-back efforts since the late 90s (1997-1998).
If guys like Rich Gannon, Chris Chandler and Vinny Testaverde can be effective QB's into their 40s, there is no reason a hall of famer like Favre can't do the same.
