The incident is commemorated on the statue's granite base, with a bronze plaque depicting a man's rear end with his pants around his knees, and Wood's outstretched hand in mid-examination.
I don't have a problem with the statue, but the plaque is in extremely poor taste.
Don't get me wrong -- I think it's hilarious. But someone must have recognized that it wouldn't be polite to put it in a public place.
