Here's another thing to hope for: That Milton becomes a Smiley (possible, but not likely) and even more unlikely that Wilson becomes a Burba.
The 1997 team had some decent starting pitchers to trade, which helped turn them around faster. They also had a GM that acted quickly.
I can see Kearns staying down in AAA until an OF injury or a trade happens to open a slot for him. We all know how slow DanO moves on trades, so Kearns might be down there until the trading deadline. Barring injury, I predict Kearns is down there 2-5 weeks minimum, no matter how well he hits.
