Song Lyrics That Don't Make Sense

"She's like the wind, through my tree" - She's Like the Wind, Patrick Swayze.

His tree? what on earth is he talking about?

"I heard her talkin' with her friend when she thought nobody else was around. She said she's got to be somebody's baby. 'Cause when the cars and the signs and the streetlights light up the town." Somebody's Baby, Jackson Browne.

Why would the girl who is "somebody's baby," refer to herself as somebody's baby - and in the third person?

And what's that last line thrown in there for? (It doesn't relate to the next line either.)

How about this gem from REM's Leaving New York:

"It's easier to leave than to be left behind
Leaving was never my proud
Leaving New York Never easy"

Leaving was never your proud? Okay then.

Feel free to add to the list.
