He was actually one of the best at differentiating strikes from balls in 2005, as he only swung at pitches outside of the strike zone about 10% of the time. To put that into context, 20% is about the average; 35% is about the most anyone will swing at pitches outside the strike zone.
Maybe I'm blind or maybe I've had too many beers with dinner tonight, but does anybody know a site that contains the above information? I've done some looking around, but haven't seen anywhere that I remember that tracks what percentage of swings are in/out of the strike zone.
